First off, we need to understand the video’s goals, the desired storytelling direction, and with that knowledge, we can write the script — the textual foundation for the upcoming animation. It’s also important to consider the preferred style of the video and animation techniques, so at the outset, we’ll prepare a storyboard — the visual basis for the future video.
Once we’ve nailed down the script’s drama and the desired look with references, we’ll dive into the initial visual work. This will involve rough static sketches of key frames — crucial for better visualizing what we’ve described in the script. These sketches will also form the basis for the visual content.
Depending on the chosen production technology, the next step involves developing volumetric models of video elements or 2D illustrations. Both options represent static views of key frames and objects for our upcoming video.
After finalizing the static elements, we’ll move on to creating motion, essentially bringing the video to life. From rough movements between key phases, we’ll gradually transition to smooth and detailed animation.
Once the movements are synchronized, we’ll focus on refining the video — enhancing textures and lighting, adding necessary effects, compiling all developed materials into one edit, and ultimately producing a high-quality video for viewing.
While we’re working on the visuals, we’ll also focus on the sound aspect to create the right atmosphere for the video. We’ll help find and record a voiceover artist, choose the best stock sound track, or even compose an original melody. Plus, we’ll wrap it all up with sound effects that enhance the visuals of the video.
